Did I hear right that there has been a classified report written, but not a public version? *IF* there was then perhaps it's a positive indication... We know that any authority can quote useless statistics, but if a classified report indicated something significant, then perhaps someone thinks that a (redacted) public version would be a lie of omission and not in keeping with the spirit of the legislation? (How's that for wishful thinking?)

Ropr's comment is another ongoing mystery. It seems unfeasible that a secret Cabal could maintain itself over such a period of time with individuals in positions of power all believing that they were/are doing the right thing AND be competent (or ruthless) enough to keep the lid on. Then multiply that by the number of other countries with significant UFO histories / crash retrieval accounts. Humans just aren't that good at their jobs, or consistent. I start to think that an alien clean-up crew is more likely; erasing evidence so as not to interfere with our 'natural' development as a species; hence the MiB accounts. But that may not preclude the existence of very isolated projects. Acquiring non-human tech or EBEs are the only real game-changers (non-ignorable evidence), as far as generating a practical response from the authorities.

A crazy but cool rabbit hole.

Of course, should something substantial come of the tardy report, it will be sourced with DOD sightings and incidents only. The public can stuff it, despite the thousands of sightings every year. Heck, even outdoor security cams, weather cams and game cams are a new breed of neutral witnesses.

And even if 95% of civilian sightings have a prosaic explanation, that still leaves hundreds, perhaps more, that do not.

"They" want to keep it all in the club.

So, WHEN are you going to write THE book that ties all these pieces together for this growing bright crowd who’ve not been on THE bus for all those years & don’t recognize the names & the allusions that have swirled in the clouds of history?

The story of the Guardians of the Secret -- both the high- and low-level participants -- has to be at least as interesting as the UFO story. Generation upon generation holding down the fort, fathers passing their blood oaths down to their sons, carrying on the great task. They must somehow think it worthwhile.
