Billy:

A local newspaper I once worked at did a story years ago about the Tinley Park "lights". Apparently one of those large, triangular UAP's was spotted floating over the south suburbs of Chicago. The reporter working that night got a call about the UAP, strolled outside the newsroom looked up and saw it. The result was not a bad story. There weren't any photos and I don't recall any follow-up. You know how difficult editors can be! Some are just plain stupid or lack the balls to go to print with a solid story.

My experience has been that editors will let an especially persistent reporter go with a UFO story, but followups, not so much. "Hey, whaddaya want? You got your little green men piece already, now get your ass on over to the groundbreaking ceremony for the new sewage plant."

In one of his ‘Countdown’ podcasts last month, Keith Olbermann ruefully pondered the Chris Licht phenomenon (Episode 110, 11th Jan) - “CNN Doubles Down on Becoming a Fascist Whorehouse”

Olbermann's jeremiads are a little too ambiguous for me. I prefer brutal honesty.

Yes, dude, one and the same! Though I left newspapers a long time ago and now am a tech editor in Cybersecurity. I still remember when Stan Friedman came to Brevard and I went to his talk and afterward bought a “My child is a student at Zeta Reticuli Elementary” bumper stickers. Anyway, great story. Look forward to reading more.

Wait a minute, are you the now-working-at-Miami-Herald Dan? From about a million years ago? Isn't it nice to know we're not crazy anymore?
