I'm pretty sure that San Marino has had a long connection with the field of UFOs and the UN - Antonio Huneeus gave a good lecture at the 2007 X-Conference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LmF4uSl25D8&list=PLujDIk_ZJDxv4hE1QY2fMpl8g2uFHaPe7&index=16

The UN's internal interest in UFOs was always through employee's clubs and not part of its policy; official policy was never given the thumbs-up; which makes the NATO interest appear more significant.

Btw, I never heard that the Tehran incident was tracked by DSP... but I found this link: http://kevinrandle.blogspot.com/2016/12/tehran-september-18-1976.html?m=1

Would be great if it's accurate.

Yep. The DSP-1 detected some peculiar activity over Tehran at during the jet chase, but arguments over the interpretation were never (apparently) resolved.

There are many fastwalker/NORAD stories, but first the gov would have to confirm then explain them, and that's something not in their DNA.

I can imagine, e.g. how strong was the correlation and does the 'activity' detected stand up when viewed in context with 'normal' activity in that area or similar? ARRO, or whatever the name is, needs to be able to analyse similar cases and resolve such issues with a high degree of confidence. But will we ever see that level of detail - and will we ever get confirmation that they are applying that level of sophistication?

Sources and methods, man. So, as much as we'd like to comply ...
