The mainstream media becoming so gullible of authority. No investigative journalism. As gullible to what AARO says as as “true believer” of anything else.
Is it possible we’ve all been duped? Obviously I don’t have a dog in this fight but someone in the know, who has the goods, photos, videos, reports, etc., who maybe as pissed off about this as we are, maybe needs to grow a pair and just come forward. And I advocate they come forward in a big way. Perhaps to a respectable foreign MSM outlet, the NYT WaPo or shit, National GeoGraphic. I know there are fears of lawsuits, etc., but if their info is extremely convincing they will be untouchable. Unless, of course, they’re murdered first.
If anyone has ever been prosecuted for violating a security oath concerning UFOs, somebody please fill me in -- I'd love to know how that one turned out.
What a disappointment, but one that I expected. No evidence to really support the conclusions and just regurgitating the various DOD type investigations in the past that proclaimed the same narrative. No transparency and nothing dealing with the 21rst century events. Do not even really know who was the author of this report but most likely . . . . . . . . Sean Kirkpatrick(?). Since the report already has a conclusion wonder what could possible exist in Vol 2 that would change anything. Unfortunately unless you are more a less a student of UFO history you will have very little context to see how badly this report is skewed. It remains to be seen whether the Congressional persons who were asking the harder questions will continue on that journey and against this kink of 'wind'.
I think Vol. 2 will tell us we haven't found anything in the future, either. They've developed time machines off of classified NHI tech, so they already know.
Don't be surprised if Speaker of the House Mike Johnson refuses to.permit the UAP congressional advocates from holding more open congressional hearings, similar to the one that transpired last July. My gut feeling is that Johnson is in the hip pockets of Representatives Rogers and Turner. As far as "Dramatic- Traumatic Disclosure" ..you would only have News Nation as a conduit for information. The other MS news media players have already turned their collective backs on further coverage of the topic except to invite contributors like West, DeGrassee Tyson , and Oberg to ridicule the subject. ..and even Kirkpatrick, if the DOD permits this.
"Two well-known men in the defense industry, whom I shall not name, were told by a three-star Air Force General from Wright-Patterson that their contracts would be pulled if they continued to discuss UFOs in public.
The crackdown has begun."
They're in full withdrawal mode, now.
But that will change when it suits their purposes.
IMO as long as the breaking UAP revelations outlet continues to be News Nation or Tucker Carlson it's game over. Those outlets are hyper partisan. It doesn't help. The powers that be which directed the NYT article and 60 Minutes piece need to regroup and give up the goods a second, maybe third time around to the same media companies. If Elizondo releases his book and his first interview is with Tucker Carlson, News Nation, Fox or OAN the game is over. You can argue legacy media is dead but it's still driving the bus in D.C. and other major metropolitan markets. You've got the wack-jobs on the right eating this stuff up and the rest of the country already thinks they're crazy so they dismiss the info presented.
Tucker Carlson & Joe Rogan have more viewers collectively than NBC, CBS, and ABC, combined. And the demographics of their viewership is very broad in both age and political views.
Carlson and Rogan are basically Populists now. Populism is on the rise worldwide, and the right and left wing establishment Uniparty members don't know whether to shit or go blind, as a result.
Legacy media is dying a rapid well deserved death.
All true Larry. But Rogan and Carlson don't carry as much weight in the Belt Way and other major American cities than Carlson and Jor Rogan. Legacy media is still import among the well-educated on the left and right. This issue is now politicized by the lack of MSM following the story.
Would totally agree with you about Mike Johnson he is straddling the line to hold everything together and his job. He cannot afford to have any hiccups from the likes of Rogers and Turner. A good piece by Billy but really sobering. The general population does not know the actual history of the subject so all the media announcements proclaiming the report will be taken for granted. I would say that the DOD deniers have won the day but maybe not the future (hopefully).
Not only is Operation Mockingbird still operating, it now has total control of the legacy mainstream media.
Hence the present, withdraw, re-present, treatment of the phenomena in the MSM. Which is not only a classic marketing and sales technique, it's also a classic propaganda technique used to keep the general populace confused and therefore easily controlled.
They've milked everything they could get out of the David Grusch presentation. So, now they're in withdrawal mode.
No worries. They'll present another so-called "whistleblower" when they determine the timing is right.
Don't know if you're familiar with the 1966 CBS report that Freeman is alluding to, but it was hosted by "Uncle" Walter Cronkite. I didn't know the full story behind it until maybe 30 years later. A true scandal, that. And a fact that Uncle Walter's legacy needs to own.
In the same vein, Cronkite and Dan Rather passed down the word of God with their JFK assassination whitewash as well. News organizations acting as a subsidiary of the U.S. government is not a new thing. In fact, this current co-option is just like old times. Cronkite can broadcast the truth to LBJ over Vietnam, but when it comes to these other events, at least on the surface it's an indicator of where the line's drawn on the serious and important issues.
Back in 1966 CBS produced UFO: Friend, Foe or Fantasy, a wholly awful debunking attempt of the same calibre.
AARO treated the UAP issue as if they were searching for evidence of an illusive new species of butterfly, rather than as an investigation into potentially criminal activities.; 'Urgent and credible' seemed to have been totally forgotten. And as covered in Billy's piece, they ignored virtually every aspect of UAP history that indicates anything far beyond contemporary human technology. Their summary report was a bullet point list that cherry picked only what supported Kirkpatrick's apparent beliefs.
Anyone who has followed this topic can see the extremes: from the pro-UAP scientists and ex-government employees working with Chris Mellon, to the guys rolled in to debunk (or defuse) the situation with extreme bias. There are victims here: the credible witnesses who have come forward only to be ignored. Not a single instance of a significant, credible UAP case appeared in the report (without negative comment) to provide balance or show willingness to acknowledge that anything truly unusual has been encountered at any point in the past.
It's slightly unfair of us to expect a well balanced overview and analysis of all relevant historical cases because AARO didn't have the time or resources. That said, the document definitely wasn't a true analysis; it was a political report presenting one particular perspective for public consumption.
Well, that report was so bad, it insulted the intelligence of and infuriated several congressmen and a few senators, I'll bet. That alone will help move this forward in a big way. Maybe, even faster and with more power behind it than it had before the report.
The U.S. military, U.S. Intelligence Community, and mainstream media play for the same team.
More evidence.
So, what about the UFO evidence, MSM?

Most MSM "journalists" don't care.

This is from Jack Sarfatti. Jack is very well connected.

I understand that, Gene.
But everything is politicized nowadays, and the MSM isn't going to report on anything about the phenomenon unless they're instructed to do so.

So you’re telling me that the CIA Broadcasting System is on the take? Shocking.
Great piece, Billy.

Well put.
Excellent review by Billy and his interviewees.

What I should have also said is:

Well, that report was so bad, it insulted the intelligence of and infuriated several congressmen and a few senators, I'll bet. That alone will help move this forward in a big way. Maybe, even faster and with more power behind it than it had before the report.
The CBS Sunday Milquetoast!
I sure hope you're right. There's a helluva lotta $ invested in the status quo.
I love how you think. Like you, I believe out of bad, comes a better good.
It's time for the pendulum to head the other way. BTW, Billy, for your Sunday morning switch to CNN and Fareed Zakaria :-)
Oh yeah -- he's done some pretty good UFO work :-\
