Billy, John Schellenberg is a philosopher who talks of the deep future (for humans) wrt religion in that we’re only just scratching the beginning if there’s God (I read his 2013 Evolutionary Religion). We’ve been at it a few thousand years only (same with science even though we’ve really good models of matter and a very short time after the big bang). So millions of years of thinking development, he says, (and experiencing I guess since people report God or God-like things in NDEs and other non-normal consciousness states) ahead and he says we should ditch traditional religions.

It makes sense that to me whatever is here is already in it’s *own* deep future wrt it's deep past origins, as a “just arrived” or “just highly techno. developed” is too now, i.e. something only a few hundred years ahead, and there will be a variety of them. And a parallel highly developed intelligence living on Earth is anathema to us anyway, inc. academia, as it goes against our anthropocentrism. If they are also *beings*, like with the Ariel school visits, then they are exploiting us? It's so complicated. Earth seems to be a kind of messy waystation (Clifford Simak comes to mind!) or a permanent base.

So yes, whatever’s here has been for ages, maybe millions of years. The Earth surely was spotted as a precious jewel in our very deep past and whether there’s a parallel life here, some seems not even biological given the intelligent nature of the lights and other forms seen, or it travelled from the stars, we’re now becoming aware of this. I like Schellenberg’s ideas, which I think can be applied to much. We’re so young. (Oh, I met Hal at a conference on exotic propulsion in London around 20 years ago - I quickly related to him a family UFO sighting my engineer friend and I were investigating, he was quite gracious and listened carefully). Thanks for article!

Obviously Puthoff, and many others, has never seen The Friendship Case documentary.

It's astonishing that an important and revealing chapter in the history of the Phenomenon (mass contacts) has been ignored or erased by contemporary researchers and theorists while they stretch the bounds of plausibility with ever weirder speculations.

Ultraterrestrial? Better call Alex and the Droogs.

Hmm. Try to convince non-intelligent humans about non-human intelligence. Nope.
